• Allow Always for folders. When an agent asks to use a folder outside the automation folder limit, you can now allow it for good, not just for an hour, a day, a week or until Hydra quits. Settings › Automation lists those folders under Also allowed, with Remove for each and Add… to allow one yourself. Credential folders such as ~/.ssh stay off limits inside them.
• When automation is refused a folder because a link leads outside the limit (for example ~/Code pointing at another drive), the message now names the link, where it leads, and the folder to allow.
• Remote agents can deploy. An MCP client on another computer can now publish files through Hydra: hydra_stage_* holds the files it sends, and hydra_sync or hydra_put publishes them with the same dry run and activity log entry as a local deploy. Turn on Can upload files for that client first.
• Fixed: remote MCP clients and saved connection passwords stopped working while the Mac was locked. They keep working now, and a client that reaches a locked Mac is told so instead of being refused as if its token were wrong.
• Fixed: the network listener could serve a different certificate from the one Settings showed, so a client that pinned it never connected.
• The welcome window has a new look, and its second step lets you choose whether to send crash reports and usage analytics, the same choices as Settings › General.
• Security updates: Go 1.27.3 and golang.org/x/net 0.60.0, with fixes to TLS, certificate checking and HTTP/2.

• Report an Issue and Request a Feature in the Help menu open the public tracker at github.com/hankinsoft/HydraDevStudio, with your version and macOS version already filled in.
• hydra license activate activates from the terminal: pass the key (or - to read it from standard input) or a .hydralic file. Hydra still asks you to confirm in its window.
• The activation messages point to Help › License…, where the license window actually is.

• Watch an agent's changes land. When an agent changes data through Hydra, an open Database tab showing that table reloads by itself and highlights the cells that changed for a moment, with every row kept where it was. More on the automation page.
• Source control for agents. Seventeen new tools let an agent work with a repository through Hydra instead of running git in a shell Hydra cannot see. Git: status, diff, log, stage and unstage (a file, everything or a hunk), commit, branches (list, switch, create), fetch, pull and push. Subversion: status, diff, log, add, commit, update and resolve. Every call lands in the Automation Log, and a connection set to read-only refuses the ones that change anything.
• Longer approvals. When an agent asks to run commands on a server, you can now allow it for 24 hours or a week, as well as an hour, until Hydra quits, or always. The 24-hour and one-week approvals stay on this Mac across a quit and end when their time is up.
• Activate from a link. Hydra now opens hydradevstudio://activate links, so activating can be one click instead of copying a key. Hydra always asks first, and says so plainly if the link would replace a license already in place.

• Subversion working copies. A new connection type under Source Control (New › Source Control › Subversion Working Copy), and the project-folder scan finds .svn checkouts. The tab shows what changed with each file's diff, checkboxes for what goes into a commit, Update, Revert, Add and Mark Resolved, and the history with every revision's changed paths and diff. Hydra runs the svn command you already have (brew install subversion if not), so existing checkouts and saved logins keep working; a Hydra credential can supply the username and password instead. Not in the App Store version, which cannot run outside tools. More on the Git page.
• Fixed: on macOS 26, a request that arrived while Automation Requests was open showed only the last lines of its card, and the Allowed for Now row after approving was cut off the same way, until the screen was reopened.
• Fixed: uploading over an existing file on SFTP set its permissions back to the server's default, so a deployed script or binary lost its execute bit. Uploads now keep the permissions the file had.
• Fixed: dropping files on a Compare window left the drop highlight showing after the drop.
• The acknowledgements in Hydra › About now list every open-source component built into the app, including the Go runtime and the libraries DuckDB compiles in.

• Compare and Merge. Compare two files, two folders, or a folder on a server against your local copy (right-click it in the browser and choose Compare with Local). Side by side or unified, with changed words highlighted, a strip showing where every change is, folding, and options to ignore whitespace, line endings or case. Copy a change across with one click and save. Images compare as pictures (side by side, swipe, overlay, or the changed pixels in red) and other files as hex. Copy or save any comparison as a patch. Start one from File › Compare Files or Folders…, Compare Clipboard with File… or New Text Comparison, or drop files on the window. More on the compare page.
• Three-way merge for Git conflicts. Right-click a conflicted file in the Git tab and choose Resolve Conflicts…: Yours, the Result and Theirs side by side. Answer each conflict with a click, or double-click it and type the answer when it is a mix of both. hydra git-setup --apply makes Hydra the tool git difftool and git mergetool open.
• Comparisons from the command line and agents. hydra diff A B opens the window, and either side can be on a connection (web:/var/www). Add --patch to print a unified diff instead; agents get the same through hydra_diff.
• Waiting requests are counted. The Home tab shows how many automation requests are waiting, and the Dock icon does too once you allow badges for Hydra; if they are off, Automation Requests says so and opens the setting.
• A pass over the whole interface. 81 smaller fixes across the library, the connection editor, the database tab and grid, the file browser (sortable columns; hidden files stay hidden until you ask, on both sides), Settings, menus and the welcome screens. Settings › AI is gone: the workspace scan offers Review with Apple Intelligence instead, on this Mac only.
• Fixed: typing quickly in an SSH terminal could reach the server out of order. Closing a terminal tab now ends its session. Whole-number amounts in the grid keep their decimals (137.00, not 137), and key columns keep their names in the header. The Automation Log stays on the newest entry.

• Agents can ask instead of being stopped. When a setting refuses an agent, it can now file a request that appears under Automation Requests with its reason, for you to allow or decline. That covers running commands on a server, changing an Agents read-only connection, using a folder outside the folder limit, reading one secret, and adding to the library. You choose how long: once, an hour, until Hydra quits, or for good. Everything allowed for now is listed with an End Now button, and quitting Hydra ends it all. Credential folders such as ~/.ssh and Read-only connections stay out of reach whatever you approve.
• Getting-started emails. The welcome screen's optional email signup now offers a short getting-started series over your first two weeks, then occasional release notes. Every email can be unsubscribed from in one click. If you signed up on 2026.274 you still get release notes only, as that screen said.
• The Automation Log names Claude Code (and other agents) correctly after Hydra restarts, instead of "mcp:unknown".

2026.274: first public release

The first build anyone can download. What is in it is on the features page; the newest parts:

• Microsoft Entra ID for SQL Server. Sign in in the browser with multi-factor authentication, with a device code, with the Azure CLI, or as a service principal. Agents use the sign-in you made and never open one themselves.
• Copy a secret. Each workspace secret has a copy button in the list and its editor. The copy is hidden from clipboard history apps and cleared after 90 seconds.
• Renewals. Settings › License › Renew Updates… adds twelve months of updates to the same key for $75, from your current end date.
• Licence keys start H3-. Keys bought before September 30 start S3- and keep working.
• Automation: credential folders stay off limits even with the folder limit switched off, and Hydra's own drafts and command logs are off limits too. Letting automation run commands is now set per Mac.
